Food Journey through the Wilderness

We live in an age where nature and fresh air are needed more than ever. More and more people are enjoying the benefits of  spending time and learning to relax in the mighty nature that surrounds us.
Nature is a source of power from which we can all benefit.

Take part in our 'Food Journey through the Wilderness' experience - a nature experience for all the senses in Sörmland's wildest wilderness. Paddle the former Viking trail, walk to a beautiful viewpoint, enjoy a 'forest bath' and round off the experience with a delicious meal cooked on an open fire.

You'll leave feeling a new person.

Itinerary

This adventure of the senses starts at Krampan nature reserve, by Marviken lake, in Åkers Bergslag.

Canoeing
After our guides have introduced themselves it's time to take to the water and paddle by canoe down Marviken lake, passing remarkable scenery as you gently paddle. The area has its own unique character because of its geological history - the mountain split in two and as a result Lake Marviken is today bordered by 50 metre high cliffs. These waters have also been frequented by Vikings who used these lakes as a waterway between the Baltic Sea and viking town of Birka in Lake Mälaren.

Forest bath
Once out of the canoes it's time to immerse yourself in the deep forests lining the lake shores and take part in our 'forest bath'. Take your shoes off, and walk barefoot and in silence on the trodden trails to leave the hustle and bustle of city life far behind and allow yourself to feel at one with the mighty nature that surrounds you. We reach a beautiful spot where you admire views over a sea of trees. Close your eyes and open your senses to the sounds and scents that the forest has to offer.

Dinner
The day's activities and plenty of fresh air will have surely opened your appetite. Now it's time to sit around the open fire and help prepare a delicious dinner. Made with the finest local produce, cooked over an open fire you can enjoy a hearty dinner and spectacular lake views, and a chance to chat with your colleagues or friends about your experiences.
