Minimising the risks
At Nordic Trails we are taking necessary precautions to minimise the risk of Covid-19 as detailed below:
Hotels, bed & breakfasts, restaurants and boats that we use have been adapted to comply with regulations in Sweden. Keeping distance and being outdoors is key to keeping down the likeliness of infection: restaurants have ensured distance between tables and as much outdoor eating as possible. Boats take fewer passengers and you are encouraged to be on deck as much as possible. Hotels limit numbers at reception and keep distance at breakfast, often avoiding buffets and stagger breakfast times. All businesses pay particular attention to cleaning.
Hand sanitizer, soap & water, are available at the start before you set off on your trip. Accommodation, restaurants, boats also have hand sanitizer available. We also provide you with your own personal bottle of hand sanitizer to be used during your trip for those moments when it is not publicly available.
Our equipment is cleaned thoroughly in the changeover from one person to the next.
One of the foundations of the Swedish strategy in handling Covid-19 is to stay home if you are feeling any symptoms including minor symptoms. We therefore have the right to deny any guests showing Covid-19 symptoms from taking part in the tour.
Thankfully our trips are all self-guided which means that travel intentionally does not take place in large groups, but instead you travel at your own pace in your own private travel group. Sweden is a scarcely populated country and once away from the big cities it is easy to avoid crowds - it has in fact been our aim with our trips well before Covid-19 to give you the opportunity to escape busy life and enjoy the solitude of the countryside. Nature is most often your travel companion!

Adaptions to our cancellation policy
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic we have relaxed our cancellation policy. The following now applies for bookings of all our trips and equipment:
If you chose not to travel due to the Covid situation we offer free cancellation of your trip up to 2 weeks before departure.
If the authorities in your country advise against all but essential travel to Sweden or the authorities in Sweden deny entry to travellers from your country of residence then we offer free cancellation up until departure.
In the event that you chose to cancel your trip as a result of Covid-19 we offer the following options:
Postpone your trip departure to another departure within 18 months, or a full refund according to the criteria above.
