Full Itinerary...
Day 1: Saltsjö-Duvnäs → Dalarö
This morning, you are transferred to Saltsjö Duvnäs harbour, just 15 minutes drive from Stockholm. Here you pick up your yacht and your journey begins.* Sail through just some of the 24,000 islands that make up this archipelago as you head towards Dalarö. Choose either to stop off at remote islands, most of which are only accessible by private boat, or the more established marinas at Saltsjöbaden and Tyresö. You continue your journey across the Baltic waters to Dalarö, an old customs station that developed into a popular resort town in the latter part of the 19th century due to its picturesque location and charming village. Russian troops set fire to the entire town in 1719, sparing only the church that stands to this day. Here you will have some free time to explore the picturesque narrow streets of colourful wooden houses, swim from the white beaches of Schweizerdalen, pay a visit to the beautiful 15th century church or visit the Archipelago museum. You spend the evening on board your yacht in the charming marina.

Day 2: Dalarö → Landsort
After a night on the yacht, you wake up to another day of fresh air and sea breeze as you set off on the longer journey from Dalarö to the island of Landsort. En route, there are no shortage of rest places, both hidden islands and the larger, well visited islands such as Ornö, Utö, Nåttarö to name but a few. Landsort marks the southern edge of the archipelago and its small picturesque village is crowned by the characteristic lighthouse keeping watch over the open seas around. The lighthouse is in fact Sweden’s oldest built in 1678. There is much to do at Landsort aside from enjoying the absolute peace and tranquility that the nature has to offer. Fishing and diving as well as bird watching are all activities to be enjoyed here at the edge of the world! Appreciate the silence as you sleep well in your cozy boat.
Sailing Distance: approx 30NM, 6hrs
Accommodation: Landsort, Onboard the yacht
Meals: Breakfast & lunch
Day 3: Landsort → Fjärdlång
Today, you head back north to the island of Fjärdlång, passing en route another world of islands. Utö’s main village, Gruvbyn, is a delightful and typical archipelago village buzzing with life in the high season. The shops and restaurants are all unique and worth a visit. Fjärdlång provides a stark contrast to busy Utö because of its calm environment. The whole island has been deservedly declared a nature reserve. Once you arrive, you can rent rowing boats or kayaks if you wish to come a little closer to the water and row over to one of the islets in the Fjärdlång waters. Marked footpaths also wind their way through the island’s woodland up to the island’s highest point, Tysta Klint, where you can admire the spectacular views across the whole archipelago. Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to swim in the clean, fresh water from the smooth cliffs so characteristic of the archipelago rocks.
Sailing Distance: approx 30NM, 6hrs
Accommodation: Fjärdlång, Onboard the yacht
Meals: Breakfast
Day 4: Fjärdlång → Sandhamn
After a peaceful night on Fjärdlång island, you set off again for the outer reaches of the archipelago and watch it change from the tightly clustered islands of the inner archipelago to the isolated, tranquil islands that dot its outer reaches. One such island called Bullarö is a nature reserve surrounded by protected waters. Enjoy the waters as you practice your sailing skills and experience the unique wildlife and birdlife that frequent these island paradises. After a break for lunch, you continue your journey across the Baltic waters to Sandhamn, which as the name suggests is an island that consists of sand and more sand. Sandhamn is perhaps best known as a place for swimming and international sailing. Its beaches boast long stretches of white sand and in high season the marina is alive with activity. Enjoy both as you spend the evening on board your yacht in the charming marina.
Sailing Distance: approx 18NM, 4hrs
Accommodation: Sandhamn, Onboard the yacht
Meals: Breakfast
Day 5: Sandhamn → Finnhamn
Your next stop is Finnhamn, made up of three islands situated where the northern edges of the outer archipelago border on the open sea. It offers yet another natural experience with clusters of trees, beach meadows, flowering meadows and a rich flora. You can hike freely on the three islands. Trails and paths abound in varied settings - through woods, open fields, across flat rocks and along sheltered coves. Finnhamn offers good swimming both from waterside rocks and small sandy beaches. You can also rent rowboats to go fishing. En route, you pass by islands such as Möja, one of the archipelago’s larger islands, with some 280 inhabitants who work principally in fishing and agriculture.
Sailing Distance: approx 18NM, 4hrs
Accommodation: Finnhamn, Onboard the yacht
Meals: Breakfast
Day 6: Finnhamn → Vaxholm
After the remoteness of the outer archipelago, you now head back to the mainland and the charming and always lively village of Vaxholm. Once again, your route takes you through the prettiest of islands, including Grinda whose natural surroundings are typical for the inner archipelago and which has been described as an open-air recreational area. Vaxholm is a genuine small archipelago village with many summer guests. Ever since the 1800s, the harbour has been a centre for boat traffic and for archipelago life. The best way to experience this picturesque village is by foot. Stroll through the North Harbour with the oldest buildings, enjoy Hamngatan with its shops and the guest harbour with its swarm of boats. And you shouldn't miss a visit to Vaxholm Fortress. Vaxholm will be a stark contrast to the tranquility of the previous islands on your itinerary. Enjoy a good night out with the rest of the summer guests!

Accommodation: Vaxholm, Onboard the yacht

Day 7: Vaxholm → Stockholm
This morning, you make the short but busy journey to Stockholm where you moor your boat at the city’s most central marina. The marina is located on Djurgården, a stone’s throw from Stockholm’s lively centre within walking distance of the many restaurants, sights, shops, museums and the delightful old town. Stockholm is unquestionably a unique and beautiful city, not only due to its location on 14 islands with its infinite presence of water, but also because of its combination of nature, colourful architecture and ancient history. And you need never walk far to appreciate the impressive views stretching across the Baltic water as it winds past the city walls. A stroll through Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s charming old town, is guaranteed to take you a step back in time.
Sailing Distance: approx 11NM, 2 1/2hrs
Accommodation: Stockholm, Onboard the yacht
Meals: Breakfast
Day 8: Stockholm → Saltsjö-Duvnäs
After the short sail back to Saltsjö-Duvnäs where you must say farewell to your boat, you are transferred back to Stockholm where you are free to enjoy your day. The Vasa Museum, one of Stockholm’s most revered museums, home to the Vasa ship. The Vasa sank on its maiden voyage on 1628 and was salvaged from the depths of Stockholm’s harbour in 1961. Despite over 300 years lying at the bottom of the Baltic, the Vasa is extremely well preserved thanks to the Baltic’s brackish waters. From here you can chose to visit Skansen, an open-air museum and zoo, where you have your best chance at spotting a moose! A stone’s throw away is the Royal Castle where Sweden’s kings and queens have resided since the 1200’s and as well as an interesting insight into the history of Sweden’s popular royal family, the views are magnificent.
